The USC Marshall School of Business and the U.S. Department of Commerce had been working together on APBO since 1988 to help exporters and investors take advantage of tremendous opportunities and overcome challenges in the constant changing economies of Asia.

Waking State Design created the event branding and designed the comprehensive graphic elements – logo, printed pieces, program book, website, signage and projections surrounding the event for the 4 years we worked on this project.

Asia Society Southern California Annual & Entertainment Galas and Summits

In 2013, Waking State Design was hired by Asia Society Southern California to brand their Annual Gala and Entertainment Summit and Dinner events – the only requirement to always utilize their Leogryph in expressive ways throughout all communications.

KUSC Kids Discovery Days

2017-2019, Los Angeles, San Jose and Santa Ana

KUSC Kids Discovery Day, a kid-friendly celebration of all things classical. Wall-to-wall performances by top-notch Los Angeles performers and student musicians waft through the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum, the Museum of Technology in San Jose, and the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. It showcases hands-on fun at the LA Phil Affiliates instrument Petting Zoo and Los Angeles Opera’s arts and crafts table, where kids can craft their own helmets, and other arts and crafts and musical merriment.

Waking State Design is pleased to have created the mascots for each of these community-centered events.

Drive the Dream

Waking State Design created the branding for the original Drive the Dream event, held at the newly renovated Exploratorium in San Francisco, and at CAA Headquarters in Los Angeles, October 15, 2015. Through the Drive the Dream events, PEV Collaborative has brought California Gov. Jerry Brown and 40 Fortune 500 Executives together to announce corporate commitments to PEV workplace charging.

Co-hosted by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and other Subnational leaders, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Environment programme, and co-hosted by UC Davis, the GGCS 3 featured compelling climate conversations from the top leaders of local, regional, national and international entities, as well as those from academia, business and nonprofit.

Waking State Design created the event branding and designed the comprehensive graphic elements – logo, printed pieces, program book, website, signage and projections surrounding the event for the 3 years we worked on this project.

LAX Appreciation Day

Thousands of people attended the open house preview of the newly redesigned Tom Bradley International Terminal during LAX Appreciation Day, June, 2013.

Waking State Design branded the event and designed all associated print and electronic graphics. Visitors were given LAX Appreciation Day passports that were stamped as they visited the various showcased art and design elements of the new terminal. Print and electronic ads were prominently featured in the major local newspapers.

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces Western Region Annual Galas

The Los Angeles Chapter of the FIDF was founded in 1981 by Leo David, always with the goal of raising money for the young men and women soldiers of the IDF and to create a community that cares for and supports Israel and its soldiers.I

Since 2008, Waking State Design has created the branding and designed all visual communications surrounding, for their major fundraising annual “Making a Difference” Gala that attracts north of 1,000 people and has raised in the vicinity of $35-$65 million each year. Hosted by Haim and Cheryl Saban from 2008-2018, musical entertainment has included Pharrell Williams, Seal, Barbra Streisand, Andrea Boccelli, the Beach Boys, Lionel Ritchie, and David Foster.
